Test mode: payments use sandbox accounts. No real money moves.
How it works
- You list your bills and connect your own PayPal or Square account.
- Fans give toward a bill or any bill. The money goes straight into your account. Chip In never holds it.
- Giving toward a bill is a label only. You are paid, not the biller, and you pay the bill yourself.
- Before paying, the donor sees the payment fee, what Chip In keeps, and exactly what you get.
- Chip In keeps only the optional tip and any share shown on the breakdown. There are no hidden fees.
- A gift shows as confirmed only after PayPal or Square tells us the money arrived.
- Gifts to individuals are not tax deductible, and gifts are not covered by purchase protection.
- PayPal or Square may report gifts to the IRS on a 1099-K. Keep records of what you receive.
